Boonville, NY Newspaper Project

A love of my hometown has led me to abstract birth, marriage and death announcements from the papers that served the area from 1852-1902.  The goal is to publish and share this information.

Boonville, NY is located on the Tug Hill Plateau along the Black River and Barge Canal in upstate New York.  Lying on the western boundary of the Adirondack Park the area is directly in the path of the lake effect snows.  It was founded by Gerritt Boon, of the Holland Land Company, and originally named Kortenaer.
